Driver/Warehouse Operative

Straight Forward Recruitment Ltd are looking for a 7.5T Driver who will also assist with both Warehouse and some sales for a company located just outside Norwich. This position is a part time role during the winter months around 2 days per week and then increases during the summer months to 4-5 days per week. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• Delivering materials out to customers.
• Warehousing duties handling goods in and goods out to visiting customers and courier.
• Advice to visiting customers on choice of materials for their requirements.
• The work will entail working outside in all weathers and manual handling duties as often materials have to be unloaded by hand if no forklift is available on the customer’s site.

Driving Duties 

• Delivering goods to customers using the 7.5t lorry or the pickup and trailer.
• Loading and unloading vehicles carefully using safe manual handling procedures and safe counterbalance forklift use.
• Correctly recording deliveries using the current company procedure as regards to delivery notes. 

 Warehousing Duties 

• Handling stock movements in and out of the warehouse and correctly accounting for these activities on the computer
• Taking action on deliveries in that are either damaged or incorrect in quantity
• Carrying out stock-taking duties
• Working towards maintaining a tidy, well organised and safe warehouse
• Handling stock movements in and out of the warehouse and correctly accounting for these activities on the computer

Qualifications Needed 

• Current driving licence and chip based Driver Qualification Card with in-date driver CPC courses
• Counterbalance forklift truck certificate provided by an independent certifier body within the last 5 years. (LANTRA, ITSSAR, AITT, TRITB, CITB, CSCS ect)
